Puffer
Respiratory problems were common. At pharmacies and drugstores, one could get aids against croup (diphtheria), bronchitis or asthma. On display are inhalers to dilate the airway or inhibit inflammation. Puffers are called them. An innocent-sounding name for a device that brought relief but no cure.
