Infraphil

A whole generation of Dutch people who grew up after World War II knew them: the altitude sun and Philips' Infraphil. The Infraphil worked with heat (infrared light). The altitude sun worked with UV light. On chilly, rainy autumn days, mother would come with this lamp and push her offspring in front of the device. The UV rays emitted a pungent ozone smell. The clothes came off, except for one pair of pants, and on the nose came a funny pair of black glasses against the bright light.
